I was pretty slow this year. It seemed that everything was hitting me, hence not a lot of time for contesting. I used my Helenedyne radio this time around. It works well and I had nothing new built for the contest. The silk smooth tuning and regeneration controls are the fine points of this radio. I picked the low hanging fruit and didn't spend much time in the 1230 - 1490 rf ghetto. Hope to do better next year.

My 2009 RadioContest entry is my Helenedyne one tube radio. This is a regenerative receiver using plate detection. This has become one of my favorite dx sets as the regeneration control is very smooth.

Not shown is the antenna tuner section. I use this tuner with several of my projects. My antenna is a wire up about 6 meters and is 40 meters long.
