I thought I would share my Borg component system. I call it that because all the parts were assimilated into my radio collective from old projects.
Here's the antenna tuner:

There's the detector section:

Here's the messy wiring:

Here's the rear with a cover I made from a piece of heat shield from my old refrigerator motor.

Here's the amp. A 6AQ5 driven by a 6AU6. I use a separate A/B power supply to run it:

Everyone else shows their good stuff. I thought I would show my stuff that works and was cheap. After all, homebuilt is only using what you have in your junk piles or on hand.

I like it. I'm currently testing a regen in a box, built from scrap lumber. I think your set shows more imagination. I'm also using a tuggle type antenna tuner, but my coils are solid wire basket weave. How is your set working?

Hergi .... very neo-art-deco

Truly highlighting the difference between home-brewed and home-built/assembled.

Many, including myself have 'new'-junk boxes, basically new parts that have been hanging around for quite a while of which the wife had retired many during unannounced cleanup's over the years to a 'junk'-box.

a word of warning .. never, never, never tell your better half to just throw it in 'that' box if it is in the way. never, never, never.

Here's the schematic for the amp. I originally had a small output transformer in the cigar box but it sounded crummy. It was probably saturating. The only other transformer I had that would handle 50ma plate current had to mounted on the outside or buy a larger box.

I will draw up a schematic for the 3Q5GT regen and post it soon.
It performs quite well. An easy 30 or so locals during the day and about a 500 mile range at night on a 40' antenna. The amp puts out 2.5 watts nice and clean. More than enough volume.

Here's the regen schematic. I guessed on the tickler. I just used what was left on the spool and glued it to the detector coil.

Is Rothschild really a brand of cigar? I thought Rothschild was just the name a global banking family.

It's a cigar size, about 4-5 inches long and around 54 ring gauge (between a nickle and quarter around)
