Forum looks great because lots of fellows like me Wink..however no pages to give a self introduction. That way we get info about new radio enthusiasts.

cheers!

I think you just did, friend. Welcome to TheRadioBoard. This is an informal
type forum, and I have purposely kept the forums simple. I never thought
the need for a separate forum just for introductions. This forum works or
the "Radio Shack" forum. In 3-1/2 years of operation, there are less than
600 members. We grow slowly.

However the best way to start a self introduction is to fill in the
profile. This is a permanent way for other members to see who another
member is. Sadly, most don't fill in anything, or very little.

Many members introduce themselves by making a post in a specific section,
and perhaps showing off their latest project with a description and a couple
of pictures. Then they go on to tell everyone who they are.

Maybe others have an opinion, and they are very welcome to post here.

So tell us about yourself. Are you a beginning builder, or have you built
many radio projects.

Best wishes,
Dave

Hi Dave,

Nice reply. However I found it contradictory that the date you joined in the forum in your profile is 'Joined: 31 Dec 1969' Very Happy

I'd like to share my radio experiences with here soon.

Regards,

That's the year he was born. He got started in radio right away. Breathing solder smoke for more than 40 years has aged him prematurely. Surprised

That joined date is the result of a glitch in the phpbb system the forums use. Over on the Antique Radio Forums we use the same phpbb system and the same thing exists over there. Seems that there was a major crash of the system several years ago and when the server was restored, the date thing defaulted to that date for everybody who were already members. Only members signing up after that event show the correct dates. It is no biggie, and I would not worry about it.

Some people get carried away with total post counts in their name. To be honest, I will have to look after making this post to see what my posting total here is. And I don't need to be told my total posting count over on the ARF, as I know it is over 32,500, which is way ahead of the second place holder. I did not try to run up my posting totals, like some may believe, but I am always trying to help others out with problems and such and the posts add up without even looking at them constantly.

Hey Jim,
I am only 30 in ham radio years.

Maybe I will do a "sticky" in the Radio Shack forum as a place for introductions.

I really did not know I had that many postings already here. But many years ago I said the same thing about Norm Leal over on the ARF. He was always the top poster until I got into gear. Now he is over 10,000 postings behind me eating my dust!

I would probably be the same way here if these forums catered to antique radios, but they don't and as such, I only post when I have something to say that fits the forums.

I will admit to getting a bit carried away over on the ARF at times, but I never did it intentionally. It just comes with the territory, I guess. Also being a moderator over there runs the count up a bit.
