Hi Guys,

I stumbled upon an interesting tidbit of info yesterday which I'd not seen before. Regarding ballpark figures for the L and C values required for an AMU, the following was suggested:

For C - 1.0 pF. for every metre of wavelength

For L - 0.25 uH. for every metre of wavelength

Has anyone here seen this before and/or could you confirm it?

Would these ballpark values also apply to a front-end double-tuned circuit used as a bandpass filter at the input of a receiver?

I found the info in the RSGB Radio Communication Handbook, Fourth Edition. In that application it was for a parallel tank circuit, with the component reactance of j500 ohms at the operating frequency. I don't see why it wouldn't apply to a double-tuned circuit.
