Hello

Thanks Guys, i decieded to leave it as it is. I mean it is my very first regen i have built and i am a total novice. So i am quiet happy with the result, and as i previously mentioned i expected less.

My next project will be a propper one. Not a Kit but i will try to develop my own circuit. I want to know if i am capable doing something "very own" based on ideas of other schematics i have seen. I want to create something i later can say: I DID IT. :D
I probably will start to ask a lot of questions later haha

Randy

Hi I have actually built this set myself and found that if you feed the heater dropper resistors and the LM386 through a 7812 regulator and also increase the valve HT to 21V by a simple 9V dry cell. The improvement in the sets performance is unbelievable. They make a good set into an excellent one !

Be careful to make sure that the filaments still only see 1.4 volts or it could be expensive though

Have a look at Daves make a radio site or Mike Peebles site using these links and you can see the mods I made.

Hope this helps Nick C0CWA, By the way I'm new to the forum myself.
