Hi all.
I got some soviet nuvistors 6c51n-v, they are analogous to www.r-type.org/pdfs/7586.pdf
I plan to build an AF amplifier. With 96(?)V HT from 24x2 transformer and voltage doubler.
Can anybody recommend something?

I never saw a Nuvistor audio stage.... lots of RF applications. I used to have an Ameco RF pre-amp with a cascode nuvistor arrangement.

A lot of high quality studio mics used them as preamps in the mics .The only trouble you may run into is they can be very microphonic and need isolated shock mounting to minimize it .

Find a nice circuit that uses 6DJ8's and use two in their place

My guess about absence of a nuvistor power amplifier that it is does not give enough power, there are many other tubes, more suitable for it. And they are probably to hungry for heater current to have any use in battery powered radios.

But I am a radio-amateur, and try to build something from available materials and fave some fun in the process :D.
So I can build an audio amp on nuvistors, and connect it to regenerative receiver on GU-50 power pentode :) I have printed out the characteristics and having fun with design.

I don't like the news about microphony. I want also to build a regen on pair of nuvistors :(

I have nuvistors with long leads to solder them in PCB, but there is a question how to mount them. Can I clean a bit of tube surface and solder it to PCB?

I have been thinking to solder some 2mm wire to tube envelop and use it as mounting stands.

Look for a picture of a 6CW4. The tabs held it in the socket. Your tube was made to be soldered. Maybe you can make a clamp.

I have estimated parameters for a SPICE model of from characteristics of the 6S51N nuvistor (triode).
Using it I can say that maximum power I can get while using it in output stage is approximately 30-50 mWatt with 80V HT.
Should be OK for earphones but if I want a loud speaker I will probably make an additional amplifier on one 3V4.

Grid voltage down from zero, step 0.2 V
