while looking for the link to the radioshack mini amp I found this kit,

there are quite a set of components and a breadboard supplied, easily enough to make regen radios, transmitters and other alternate circuits from the ones shown in manuals (yeah, downloaded and skimmed them)

only downside, price, it is astonishingly high, specially considering what components would cost if bought in bulk.

oh well, interesting read for a beginer anyway.
