Gang,

A few posts lately have talked about Alfred P. Morgan,
and his great publications.

Have a nice collection of those books, so I thought I'd
share some info about them:

1) The Boy Electrician. . .1913-1914
a) Early wireless sets.
b) Other great information and projects.
c) My copy is original, and in mint condition.
Found it at a HAM flea mkt, many years ago.

2) A First Electrical Book For Boys. . .1936-1951
a) Very basic electricity, and basic experiments.

3) Getting Acquainted With Radio. . .1940-1943
a) Crystal, and tube radio projects, AF/RF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.

4) First Radio Book For Boys. . .1941-1943
a) Crystal, and tube radio projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.

5) The Boy Electrician. . .1948-1966
a) Crystal, and tube radio projects.
b) Other great information and projects.

6) The Boy's First Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1954
a) Crystal, and tube radio projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.
c) Tube sets use 1H4/1G4 tubes.

7) The Boy's First Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1954-1969
a) Crystal, and tube radio projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.
c) Tube projects use a 6V. triode, instead of the 1H4/1G4.

8) The Boy's Second Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1957-1963
a) Crystal, tube, and transistor radio projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.

9) The Boy's Third Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1962
a) Crystal, tube, and Transistor radio projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.

10) The Boy's Fourth Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1969
a) Transistor and Solar radio, and other solar projects, AF amps.
b) Other great information and projects.

11) First Book of Radio and Electronics. . .1977
a) This book is a soft-cover, redo of the 1954-1969 book,
listed in "6". It was published by: Ruth S. Morgan,
Alfred Morgan's wife, in memoriam of him, 1889-1972.

The above list is my entire collection, and I'm certain there were more
radio books that Morgan wrote, that I'm not aware of. Please add any
information that would add to, or be additional to my list.

Many of us started out, and grew-up with Morgan, and his great
publications. His books were checked-out of the library by me, more
than any-other books. I'm so lucky to have the very books listed in
"5 thru 8", that I checked out of the Bookmobile, that came to our school.
I found them at a local book store in Vancouver, WA where I live, just
shortly after the library liquidated them in the middle '80s.

A.P. Morgan was a great author, and I'll bet a great guy.

Hope you all enjoy this. . .

Mike

Speaking of Alfred Morgan. Many people may have heard the name of Adams-Morgan in the early 1920s era radio sets like the Paragon models. Same guy.

Mr. Morgan covered a lot of ground.

The author was Irwin Math, WA2NDM, who writes the column "Math's Notes" for CQ Magazine.

Google Books has some Alfred P. Morgan books available as free downloads in PDF form. I just downloaded "Wireless Telegraphy and Telephony."

These are old books from the 20s and the copyrights have expired.
