Hello,
Hoping maybe someone can help me identify this radio. I got if off of Craigslist. Took a chance for $35. My friend in Kansas is picking it up for me. The seller told me his grandfather built it from a kit and he remembers his grandfather listening to it in the 50s. He is the original owner after his grandfather gave it to him. He has never used it but has had it sitting around in his basement. Of course a seller can say anything with no way to verify it but this guy sounded sincere. I have not yet received it from my friend in Kansas.

I took a chance on this for the parts as I have been interested in making a twinplex regen. Tube radios are new to me. I have built some small QRP radios from kits. I am thankful for finding this site and the knowledge available.

Thank you all,
Scott

The seller's description seems to fit. Looking at the size of the tuning cap and coil this *might* be a shortwave set. Kinda hard to tell.

My preference would be to get this one up and running rather than cannibalizing it to build something else. You can build a Twinplex later :) This is probably a better radio than a Twinplex.

This one looks like an 0-V-2 style - a detector circuit with 2 stages of audio. Can't say if its a regen but if its shortwave it probably is. The biggest scourge in old 20s radios is open interstage audio transformers so good luck! Replacements are available so its not a lost cause if thats the case.

And you can find a match for the mismatched vernier. Dunno which one is wrong :)

GL,
Bill

Thanks for the reply Bill. You may be right about restoring it. I don't have it in my possession as of yet.
