I want to renovate my "all band" dipole. It's a 100 ft. flat-top center-fed with 450 ohm ladder line. There is an AH-4 Icom auto-tuner at the base of the ladder line.

Contacted "The Wireman" and found a nice selection of ladder line and 14 AWG copper-clad, but nothing is in stock. 10 weeks delivery.

Anyone know a good source for these items? I really want to get ladder-line with stranded conductors.

Rich

I see some on eBay, but copper prices have gone crazy. My source for magnet wire isn't carrying it anymore. Auction 320567742076, 16-gauge stranded Copperweld, 450-ohm, 45 cents/foot + shipping. The solid-wire stuff is much less expensive. I used the solid-wire 450-ohm stuff in New England for several years. Getting good strain relief on the antenna connection is the problem, as you've probably learned!

I don't know how competitive their prices will be, but Associated Radio had ladder line on the shelves the other day when I was in.

Hi Rich, try this link. They have a few different choices of wire size to choose from.
