I always keep the box checked to keep me logged in. Just lately, when I try to get to the site, it takes a while, and when I get here the box is unchecked. Is this a problem on my end, or is there a hitch in the giddy-up?

Guys,

It's real sporadic, and I think we are all experiencing the same problem.

I have broadband, and it should, kick right in all the time, but doesn't.

I don't know if this is coincidental, but I have found that deleting cached files, cookies and history, rebooting the computer sometimes, too. This all seems to help, but may be just a coincident, that it seems to all come together more quickly. Also, keep documents cleard from the START menu.

Usually I go away and try again soon, and it kicks right in :-)

That still don't make any difference, as on another simulair board, I got right on. Then there are days when that board takes a long time, and this one don't. Perhaps it's the servers. It still don't explain the login box being unchecked. Being that I am on my own, I'll check it out with a nephew who is an IT Tech.

This board was really pokey last week. It seems to be better
this week. As I understand it, the automatic logins depend
on your cookies being unmolested.

As I am figuring it out, the quickness depends on the server load
and also the database load. If a lot of people are accessing the
databases, then the speed goes to pot. Then later it gets better.

My host, powweb.com charges me about $8 per month for my
entire website. This includes all the schmarder.com plus the
nostalgitronics.com stuff. I will let others bug them about the
slowness at times, because someone else lets them know and
they probably monitor their server loads. (I never call that
the electric is out either because somehow they have the idea.)

Those that want to study up on these boards and let us know what
is going on, can access http://www.phpbb.com/ . The answers are
probably there.

gotta be right Dave---sometimes it's slow--other times it's really fast---the loss of "log in" may be due to them working on the server(??)--it sure isn't any inconvenience to me<grin>i like this board

I was almost certain that the above was not real relavent to the behavior of the board, but at times it seemed so. I would suppose that it was just settled-down, by the time that I fiddled, here. Am in the habit of keeping all those cache areas clean anyway. . .

Hey Dave,

Maybe it's coming to the 'end of the internet'

Thanks for the info, I am going to check how my browser is set and maybe a few other things and see if it does make a difference.
